Answer:

48

Explanation:

Let the number of mango Ritu has be x an number of mangoes Kiran has be y.

So, if Ritu takes 8 mangoes from Kiran, Ritu will have x+8 mangoes which will be equivalent to (5/2)y times of Ritu.

So, from above statement we can form an equation:

x+8= (5/2)y [equation 1]

Now, if Kiran takes 16 mangoes from Ritu, Kiran will have y+16 which is equivalent to x mangoes of Ritu.

So, from above statement we can form another equation:

y+16=x  [equation 2]

Now comparing equation 1 and equation 2 we get:

x - (5/2)y= -8

x - y= 16

_____________

-3y/2= -24 [By subtracting equation 2 from equation 1]

3y= 48

y=16

So, Kiran has 16 mangoes.

now putting the value of y in equation 2 we get:

16+16=x

or, x=32

So, number of mangoes Ritu has is 32.

so, total number of mangoes is : 32+16=48

Answer:

Explanation:8+x=5\2

8*2+x=5
