=let latas age be x and ritus age be 3x

= 8 years ago that is x - 8 ; 3x - 8 ; ritus age was 4 times the age of lata  

Equation =  

3x - 8 = 4 ( x - 8 )

3x - 8 = 4 x - 32

X = 24

Ritu's present age = 3x = 3 * 24=72 years

Lata's present age = x = 24 years
