and let the age of ritu's mother be 4x years

After 5 years-

Ritu' age = x + 5 year

Ritu's mother age 4x + 5 years

ATQ -

3( x + 5 ) = 4x + 5

3x + 15 = 4x + 5

By the method of transposing -

15 - 5 = 4x - 3x

x = 10

Therefore, Present age of ritu is x = 10 years and present age of ritu's mother is 4x = 40 years.
