Riya goes to buy a dress. The dress she likes is marked at RS 5500. 12.5% VAT is applicable. She requested the seller to give her a discount so then she pays only RS 5500. Now, find the discount amount and the discount percentage.

Cost price of dress(before) = Rs 5500
Amount of VAT on dress = 12.5 %
Cost price of dress (after) = Rs
12.5 % of 5500 =
5000\times \frac{5}{100 \times 2}
= Rs 125
5000+125 = Rs 5125
Discount = 5125 -5000 = Rs 125
Discount % =
VAT = D%
VAT is 12.5 % , so discount percent will also be 12.5%
Discount % = 12.5%
The shopkeeper did not included an tax on that dress .

Ans》DISCOUNT = 125
DISCOUNT % = 12.5 %
