AnswEr :
Here we're given that, Riya had Rs 5 more than 4 times the amount of Ritu. Moreover we're also provided with ratio of amt. they had. Also, they both were given some Amt. of money & we've to find how many rupees did Ritu had with her!
Let's assume that Ritu had overall Rs x.
According to the question,
Total amount Riya has = Rs 4x + 5
Also, if both were given additional Rs 25,
- Amt. Riya had = 4x + 30
- Amt. Ritu had = x + 25
We're given their ratio as 9 : 4 respectively !
Equating,
4x + 30/x + 25 = 9/4
4(4x +b30) = 9(x + 25)
16x + 120 = 9x + 225
16x - 9x = 225 - 120
7x = 105
x = 15
Hence, Ritu had Rs 15 originally.
