Answer:

Jiya walks \textbf{6km east}6km east

And then \textbf{8km north}8km north

Now, jus make the figure of this question. The figure is given in the attachment.

We need to find the length of \textbf{AC}AC

By the \textbf{Pythagoras Theorem}Pythagoras Theorem :

H^{2} = P^{2} + B^{2}H

2

=P

2

+B

2

=》 AC^{2} = AB^{2} + BC^{2}AC

2

=AB

2

+BC

2

=》 AC^{2} = 6^{2} + 8^{2}AC

2

=6

2

+8

2

=》 AC^{2} = 36 + 64AC

2

=36+64

=》 AC = \sqrt{100}AC=

100

=》 \textbf{AC = 10 km}AC = 10 km

Therefore, Jiya is 10 km far from her home position.

Let the starting point be a AB is 6km and BC is 8Km

/_ABC =90

Then by PGT

AC^2=BC^2+AB^2

AC=√6^2+8^2

AC=√36+64

AC=√100

AC=10KM
