Answer:

Given, Common diameter =2 m

Radius =1 m

Total length of tank =8 m

Length of cylinder =h=8−2(1)=6 m

Surface area of the tank

= Surface area of two hemispheres + lateral surface area of the cylinder

=2×2πr

2

+2πrh

=2πr(2r+h)

=2×3.14×1(2×1+6)

=50.26 m

2

Cost of painting =50.26×60=Rs. 3015.92

∴ Cost of painting the tank is Rs. 3015.92

Answer:

Tank is in the shape of a cylinder with hemispheres of same radius attached to both ends.

Given : Length of the tank =6 m

Radius r=1 m is same for all shapes

Height of hemispheres = Radius (r)=1 m

∴ Height of the cylinder (h)=6−2=4 m

And radius of hemisphere =1 m

Now, volume of the tank = volume of two hemipheres + volume of a cylinder

Volume of a cylinder =πr

×4

=4π

Volume of a hemisphere =
