Presence of URACIL makes RNA more resistant to UV rays

Now as we already know that RNA stands for RIBO NUCLEIC ACID. This RNA consists of URACIL instead of THYMINE. When UV rays falls on THYMINE BASE PAIRS, it makes these genetic sequences to bond together and as a result they form PYRIMIDINE DIMERS. These dimers acts as disruption in the strand and it cannot be copied by the reproductive enzymes.

But in case of RNA, since THYMINE is absent and URACIL is present so there is no PYRIMIDINE DIMERS formation in UV rays and this makes RNA more resistant to UV ray.
