• Nepal does not have a developed transportation system because of its mountain topography.
• Road transportation is very important in the context of transportation in Nepal.
• The Railway system cannot be constructed as railways can be successfully constructed in the plain areas of Terai.  
• Nepal is a landlocked country that does not have territory connected to an ocean or whose coastlines lie on endorheic basins therefore waterway transportation is not possible.
• The other available option for transportation in Nepal is airway transport but it is a comparatively expensive way.
• Therefore in such regions like Nepal road transportation is the most suitable system of transportation and is also widely used.
