This means that roads can cover places which are geographically more harder to cover when compared to the railways. For example, railways cannot scale mountains such as himalayas whereas roadways can.

Roads are considered as a negotiator of higher gradients of slopes as roads can easily be constructed in places which have difficult terrain.

Explanation:

  • The uneven ground and unequal heights of mountains in the Himalayan region can be traversed through roads as compared to other means of transport like railways.
  • Railway lines are difficult to construct on the Himalayas however, roads can follow the topography of Himalayas. The isolated areas can be connected to the mainstream easily via road.
