Roadways still have an edge over railways:
1. the construction cost of roadways is much lower than railways lines
2. roads can traverse comparatively more dissected and undulating topography
3. roads can negotiate higher gradients of slopes and as such can traverse mountains like Himalayas
4.it provides door to door service thus cost of loading and unloading is much lower.
5. Roadways are economical transportation of few persons and relatively smaller amount of good over short distances
6.Road transport is also used as feeder to other transport such as they provide link between sea ports etc..
