He often fought for the freedom of the country. Robert bruce had a small army of scottish soldiers. They fought six battles with england but lost each time. The english army was much bigger and stronger. There was no success. The entire scottish army got scattered. The king became a refugee in his own country. He went into hiding in a cave. one day when he was lying down on rock dejected, He noticed that a spider drops by its thread from the ceiling getting ready to spin a web. He watched her fascinated, as she is working slowly with great care trying to get back to its web. she tried to reach the other end of the cave wall but she slipped and fell. this didnt stop her. again drops.
she started the process again. The king was amazed. finally the spider succeeds in 9th attempt. Bruce was filled with new hope and courage. He was enlightened by this little creature. Inspired by the example, bruce decides to try again. Slowly and carefully he built the army of brave scottish men. A seventh battle was fought and this time they managed to defeat the english army. England finally recognized Scotland as an independent country.
