Answer:

The Rocky Mountains, also known as the Rockies, are a major mountain range in western North America.

Public parks and forest lands protect much of the mountain range, and they are popular tourist destinations, especially for hiking, camping, mountaineering, fishing, hunting, mountain biking, skiing, and snowboarding.

Answer:

The Rocky Mountaians cover approximately 3,000 miles and stretch all the way along western North America—from Alaska all the way down to New Mexico

since the peaks reach so high, water runs towards the Pacific Ocean on the western side of the Rockies and towards the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans on the eastern side.

Many different parks and reservations are found in the Rocky Mountains, such as the Banff, Jasper, and Kootney National Parks in Canada and the Glacier, Rocky Mountain, and Yellowstone National Parks—to list a few.

Since the Rocky Mountain region is so large and runs through so many different areas it is often split into five sections. From top to bottom the sections are: Brooks Range, the Rocky Mountain System of Canada, Northern Rockies, Middle Rockies, and finally Southern Rockies.

Mount Robson is the tallest peak in the Canadian Rocky Mountain system, reaching 3,954 meters above sea level.
