The maximum height the booster attains is 200 km.

The velocity of the booster at height 60 km is 1670 m/s.

Given,

Height from ground= 5.0 km

Initial velocity (u)= 2000m/s = 2 km

To find,

Maximum height=?

Velocity at 60 km=?

Solution,

According to law of kinematics:

hmax= u² / 2g

hmax= (2)² / 2*(10/1000) = 200 km

Now,

v²= u² - 2gh

v²= (2000)² - 2*10*60000

v= 1670 m/s

Hence, the maximum height attained by booster will be 200 km and the velocity of the booster at a height of 60 km is 1670 m/s.
