Rohan consumed two fifth of the water:

a) Amount of water consumed by Rohan:

2/5 of the 5 liters =  2/5 x 5 liters

                          =  10/5 litres

                          = 2 liters.

b) what fraction of the total quantity of water did Pratap drink?

If Rohan drank 2 liters,  Then Pratap drank (5-2)liters
                                                               = 3 liters

Therefore 3 liters as a fraction of 5 liters:

3litres/ 5 litres

=  3/5
