Total% of money he uses= 40%

Total% of money remained= (100-40) % = 60%

Money remained = 60% of x

But,

Money remained= rs 36 (given)

So,

=> 60% of x = 36

=> 60/100 * x = 36

=> 6* x = 36* 10

=> x= 360/6

=> x= rs 60

So,

total pocket money= rs.60.
