Rohan is 26 year younger to his father.the father is younger to rohan's grandfather.if sum of the three is 84 years,what is the age of the father?

solution :- Let Rohan's age = x years
Rohan's father age = y years
and Rohan's grandfather age = z years

A/C to question,
Rohan is 26 years younger to his father.
e.g., y = x + 26 .......(i)

Rohan's father is 20 years younger to Rohan's grandfather.
e.g., z = 20 + y ........(ii)

and sum of three = 84 years
e.g., x + y + z = 84 .........(iii)

from equations (i) and (ii),
z = 20 + y = 20 + (x + 26) = 46 + x

now, x + y + z = 84
x + x + 26 + x + 46 = 84
3x + 72 = 84
3x = 12 => x = 4 years

y = x + 26 = 4 + 26 = 30 years

z = y + 20 = 30 + 20 = 50 years

hence, age of father is 30 years.
