Answer:

Ragini's electromagnet is better.

Explanation:

We can increase the strength of an electromagnet by 2 methods:--

•By increasing the number of turns of the coil wound around the solenoid.

•By increasing the power of electric current flowing through the solenoid.

Since Ragini's electromagnet has more no. of turns in it as compared to Rohan's electromagnet,so by taking the power of electric current common in both the electromagnets, I confirm Ragini's electromagnet is much stronger than Rohan's.

Ragini's electromagnet is better than Rohan because there are 100 turns in Ragini's electromagnet.

Explanation:

There are some ways to increase the strength of an electromagnet. These are as follows :

  • On increasing current in the electromagnet.
  • Adding number of loops in the electromagnet.
  • On winding coils close together.
  • Using stronger ferromagnetic material for core.

Here, Rohan made an electromagnet by winding 50 turns of wire over an screw. Ragini also made an electromagnet by winding 100 turns over a similar iron screw.

So, Ragini's electromagnet is better than Rohan because there are 100 turns in Ragini's electromagnet. Hence, this is the required solution.
