Price of shirt including VAT = ₹882
Price of shirt before VAT = ₹840
Price of VAT = ₹(882-840) = ₹42
VAT % = VAT/CP × 100
= 42/840 × 100
= 5%

so vat = 42
so VAT % = 840/42* 100
VAT % = 5%
