Rohan's mother is 26 years older than him. The product of their ages (in years) 3
years from now will be 360. We would like to find Rohan's present age.

Answer:

Rohan age = X

His mother age = X+26

(X+ 3) (X+26+3) = 360

(X+3) ( X+29) = 360

+ 32X+3X = 360

+32X = 360-87

+32X-273 = 0

a= 1 , b= 32 , c= 273

With the help of Sridhara Acharya's Formula:-

X= -b±b²- 4ac/2a

= -32±(32)²-4.1.(-273)/2.1

= -32±1024+1092/2

= -32±2116/2

= -32±46/2

= -32+46/2

= 14/2

= 7

Rohan age = 72 yrs

His mother age = 7+26 yrs

= 33 yrs

➡️Then, his mother's age is (x+26) years.

➡️Rohan's age after 3 years =(x+3) years

➡️After 3 years the age of Rohan's mother

➡️(x+26+3)years

➡️(x+29) years

➡️It is given that after 3 years from now, the product of Rohan's and his mother's ages will be 360 years.

➡️∴(x+3)(x+29)=360⇒x2+32x−273=0....answer

➡️This is the required equation.

➡️∴(x+39)(x−7)=0

➡️∴x=−39 and x=7

➡️∴x=7.......(∵ x can not be negative)

➡️∴ Mother's present age=7+26=33....answer
