Answer:

Rohan worked for 15 days

Step-by-step explanation:

salary for complete attendance: 520×31=16120

salary he got: 14200

16120-14200=1920

1920 was deducted from his monthly salary.

rs. 120 deducted each day so,

days he was absent: 1920/120=16

he remained absent for 16 days.

no. of days he was present: 31-16=15

he worked for 15 days.

CROSS CHECK:

15×520=7800

he got rs 400 on days he was absent so,

16×400=6400

7800+6400=14200, i.e., the salary rohan got.

Let x be the number of days where employee is working and y be the number of days where employee is sitting idle.

Total number of days = 60

∴ x+y=60...........(1)

He gets 20 rs for each working day and 3 Rs is deducted and total amount he get is 280 Rs

∴ 20x−3y=280......(2)

Multiplyin equation 1 by 3

Hence we get 3x+3y=180...(3)

Adding equation 1 and 3 we get

23x=460

x=20

Putting x=20 in equation 1

∴ y=40
