Given data : Rohit and Romil purchased a plot .Its value was ₹ 1,80,000. This amount invested by both in the ratio 3 : 5. After some years they sold it at a profit of 25%.

To find : What is the profit each of them will get ?

Solution : The proportion of Rohit's and Romil's investments is 3 : 5.

  • Value of the plot = ₹ 180000

Let, profit shared in the same proportion as the investment, so proportion of profit is 3 : 5.

Now, a/c to given data;

  • Profit percentage is 25 %.

Hence,

➜ Profit = 25/100 * value of the plot

➜ Profit = 25/100 * 180000

➜ Profit = 25 * 1800

➜ Profit = ₹ 45000

Therefore, the profit of Rohit and Romil is given by

➜ Rohit's Profit = 3/8 * profit

➜ Rohit's Profit = 3/8 * 45000

➜ Rohit's Profit = 3 * 5625

➜ Rohit's Profit = ₹ 16875 and

➜ Romil's Profit = 5/8 * profit

➜ Romil's Profit = 5/8 * 45000

➜ Romil's Profit = 5 * 5625

➜ Romil's Profit = ₹ 28125

Answer : Hence, Rohit and Romil got a profit of ₹ 16875 and ₹ 28125 respectively.
