Answer:
Amount of pencil = Rs. 2/5
amount of eraser = Rs. 7/10
Amount he gave to the shopkeeper = Rs.10
money left with him = (2/5 + 7/10) - 10
now first we add 2/5 and 7/10
take lcm of 5 and 10
lcm is 10
= 2×2/5×2 + 7×1/10×1
= 4/10 + 7/10
= 11/10
Now subtract 11/10 from 10
take denominator of 10 as 1
10/1 - 11/10
lcm of 1 and 10 = 10
10×10/1×10 - 11 ×1/10×1
100/10 - 11/10
89/10 = 8.9
money left with rohit = Rs 8.9
