let the distance from school to homes of both be x(same locality)
1st case,
speed=distance/time
60=x/time
time=x/60--------(1)
2nd case,
speed=distance/time
40=x/time
time=x/40----------(2)
dividing (1) & (2)
x/60÷x/40
x/60×40/x(reciprocal of x/40)
2/3
therefore, the ratio is 2:3

Answer:2:3
Step-by-step explanation:
Speed1 of rohit's car = 60km (per hour)
Speed2 manjo's car = 40km (per hour)
Distance covered by
Both = 1km
Time taken=1/S1 1/S2 =1/60 : 1/40 = 1/60 ÷ 1/40 = 1/60×1/40 (cancellation done by 20 )
2/3 = 2:3 <----answer
