Therefore the probability that Rohit did not hit a century is '0.6'.

Given:

Total number of innings played by Rohit = 10

Number of centuries hit by Rohit = 4

To Find:

The probability that he did not hit a century.

Solution:

The given question can be solved very easily as shown below.

Given that,

Total number of innings played by Rohit = 10

Number of centuries hit by Rohit = 4

Probability of Rohit hits a century = P(A) = ( Number of centuries hit by Rohit ) / ( Total number of innings played )

⇒ Probability of Rohit hits a century = P(A) = 4/10 = 0.4

The probability that Rohit does not hit a century = P(A)¹ = 1 - P(A)

⇒ The probability that Rohit does not hit a century = P(A)¹ = 1 - 0.4 = 0.6

Therefore the probability that Rohit did not hit a century is '0.6'.
