Rohit made a model of an electric bell. He connected a coil in the circuit and switched it ON. His
bell did not work properly because magnetism produced in the coil was not strong enough
Then he made some changes in the coil and the circuit started working properly. His bell could
ring. He also found out other ways of producing a strong magnetism.
i) What change do you think Rohit made in his coil?
What other ways did Rohit find for increasing strength of the magnet?
(ia) State the rule to determine the direction of the force experienced by the current
carrying straight-wire placed in magnetic field which is perpendicular to it?
OR
(ib) Mention one more electric component/device based on the same principle as above,
which is widely used. Name three electrical appliances which operate by help of this
component.
