The area of the shaded region is 154.8 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

side of the bigger square ABCD = 14 cm

BC = 14 cm

PQ = RS = 3 cm

PR = 14-6 = 8 cm

O is the mid point of the small square

OP is the radius = 4 cm

diameter of the semi circle = 4 cm

radius of semi circle = 2 cm

side of the smaller square = 4 cm

area of smaller square = side× side = 4×4 = 16 cm²

area of 4 semi circles = 2\pi r^2 = 2\times 3.14 \times (2)^2  = 25.12 cm^2

total area inside the figure = 25.12+16 = 41.12 cm²

area of the shaded region = area of square - area of the inside fig

= 196- 41.12

= 154.8 cm²

hence ,

The area of the shaded region is 154.8 cm²
