He secured 10 marks more than Y.

Equation is X-(X×58/100) = Y+10

Like this the equation of Mohit is ,

X-(X×71/100)= Y-16

Solving this you will get X= 200

and Y= 74

so,the passing percentage was = 74×100/200=37%
