Question.

Rohit sold a bat for ₹ 1400 at a gain of 12%.for how much did he purchase it?

Solution.

s.p = \sf\red{1400rs}

gain = \sf\red{ 12%}

so,

c.p = \sf\green{ s.p×100/ 100- loss}

\sf\green{ 1400 × 100 / 88}

\sf\green{ 1590.90rs}

\sf\red{C.P\: formula-:}

c.p = \sf\green{s.p + loss}

c.p = \sf\green{ s.p - profit}

c.p = \sf\green{s.p ×100/100+profit}

S.P. = 1400, Gain % = 12%.

C.P. = {100/(100 + Gain%) × S.P.}

= {100/(100 + 12) × 1400}

= ( 100/112 × 1400)

= 1250

Hence, Rohit purchased the bat for 1250
