Rohit spends (29 / 30)th part of his salary in total, and (1 / 30)th part of his salary is left as savings.

• Let the total salary of Rohit be taken as 1.

• Given,

Fraction of salary spent by Rohit on ration = 2 / 3

Fraction of salary spent by Rohit on transport = 1 / 5

Fraction of salary spent by Rohit on rent = 1 / 10

• Now, total fraction of salary spent by Rohit = (2 / 3) + (1 / 5) + (1 / 10)

Taking out the L.C.M. of the denominators 3, 5 and 10, we get, 30 as the value.

Now,

{ (2 × 10) + (1 × 6) + (1 × 3) } / 30

[ Divide the L.C.M 30 by the denominator of each fraction and multiply the quotient with the respective numerator ]

= (20 + 6 + 3) / 30

= 29 / 30

∴ The total part of salary spent by Rohit = 29 / 30

• Now, the part of Rohit's salary left as savings = Total salary - Total part of salary spent by him

=> Rohit's savings = 1 - ( 29 / 30)

Or, Rohit's savings = (30 - 29) / 30

Or, Rohit's savings = 1 / 30

∴  Rohit could save (1 / 30)th part of his salary after all his expenses.
