The age of Father = 3x

$3x + 8 =2 \frac{1}{2} ( x + 8) \\ \\ = > 3x + 8 = \frac{5x + 40}{2} \\ \\ = > 6x + 16 = 5x + 40 \\ \\ = > 6x - 5x = 40 - 16 \\ \\ = > x = 24$

Therefore, the present age of:

Rohit = 24 yrs

Father = 72 yrs

Rohit = 24 + 8
