Saliva the watery liquid produced by glands located under the tongues is an essential component of digestive process . Saliva content 98% of water . When we eat food saliva help in breakdown of food in mouth and saliva mix with food and moistens the food and convert into paste called bolus . So mainly saliva helps in moistens of food
