- Alluri Sitaram led the tribal uprising in the Gudem hills of Andhra Pradesh.
- He was inspired by the Gandhian idea of Non Cooperation movement. But he claimed that India could attain swaraj only by the use of non violence.
- He claimed that he had super powers that he could heal people, do astrological predictions and even survive bullet shots.

Alluri Sitaram Raju was the tribal chief from the gudem hills of Andhra Pradesh. In the early 1920s, he originated militant guerrilla Movement by urging the soldiers and armed civilians to use military tactics including pitfalls, demolition, assaults and hit-and-run tactics against the britishers.
