The role of chemistry in the kitchen is highly significant. We can interpret almost all the activities of kitchen as simple as well as complex chemical reactions.

Cooking is the major activity that we perform in kitchen daily. It involves a lot of chemical process. The entire process of cooking is involved in one or the other kind of chemical change.

Endothermic as well as Exothermic reactions are part of cooking.

Moreover the ingredients that we use in kitchen are either chemicals or contain chemical compounds. Baking powder, soda, vinegar and lemon juice are some examples of chemical substances. These materials include Acids and Basis also.

The rotting of food also involves chemical processes. The rusting of tools and utensils also involve chemical process.
