hello,
Corrosion is the degradation of metals due to presence of certain elements(especially fluids) that makes metal commodities unfit for usage purpose.Corrosion is the oxidation or formation of oxides of certain metals when they are left exposed to open air.Corrosion inhibitors are solutions of certain substance (or even compounds) that stop articles from corroding . Generally, corrosion inhibitors include metal primers, they are compounds of oxides of metals that prevent metal articles from corroding further.Enamel paints that prevent direct contact of metals with open air ,humidity and moisture which cause metal articles to corrode. Other plating practices involve anodizing or plating metal articles with films of aluminium and galvanizing or plating metal commodities with zinc.
Thanks ! hope it would prove useful to you!

When a metal is atacked by its surrounding air , moisture , acid etc it is said to be corroded . The process is called corrosion.
Electrochemical corrosion of metals occurs when electrons from atoms at the surface of the metal are transferred to a suitable electron acceptor or depolarizer. Water must be present to serve as a medium for the transport of ions.
