Election commission can order government to follow some guidelines to prevent undue misuse of governmental powers during elections. In this way the Election Commission of India regulate campaigns of political parties and candidates to ensure fair and equal chances to compete in the elections.

He is an independent and very powerful organization like judiciary.

He is appointed by president and he is not answerable to any one.

Following are enjoyed by him:

He implements the code of conduct and punish who violates it.

He even control the government during election.

If the place is not fair for voting he can order repolling in a particular constituency
