Hormones are chemical substances that are secreted into the bloodstream by the endocrine(ductless) glands. Hormones play a very important role in initiating reproductive function. Like:The hypothalamus produces gonadotropic (GnRH) hormone which forces the pituitary(master) gland to release FSH(follicle stimulating hormone) and LH(luteinizing hormone) which in turn enforce the sex organs in male testes and in female ovaries to produce testosterone and estrogen respectively which are responsible for reproductive growth.

There different kinds of hormones which play an important role in initiating and stimulating sexual reproduction in humans. Production of this hormone is under the control of pituitary gland, therefore, it is also called master gland.

A number of hormones called the sex hormones are secreted by the testes and ovaries in human body. The secretion of these sex hormones is further controlled by another set of hormones known as Follicle Stimulating Hormones ( FSH ), secreted by the pituitary gland. These hormones ( FSH ) actually stimulate the testes and the ovaries to secret testosterone in male and entrogen in females. These hormones, after secretion, reach the target site through the blood stream. Target site is the body part where these hormones reach space really and get a responses by bringing changes in the body at the onset of puberty.
