1. Don’t throw chocolate, biscuit, ice-cream and other fast-food material wrappers on roads or in open spaces. Keep them in the pocket and put them in specific bucket later on.
2. As alternatives to plastic bags, we can use cloth bags made of household material. i.e old strains, curtain material, bed sheets, etc.
3. Avoid use of tissue paper; instead use your own napkin.
4. Social Awareness programmes can be organised in community, schools and colleges.
5. To encourage the citizens to participate in waste management.

Individual plays a vital role in the solid waste management. He/she is the base of the solid waste management programmes such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. If an individual wills then only our country could be clean. The individual can do following to reduce wastes:-
1. Reduce Solid:

Reduce solid waste at source means using less paper and less use of plastic carry bags.

2. Reuse Solid:

Reuse making manure out of decomposable waste, making note-books out of unused papers.

3. Recycle:

Means separating plastic, metal, rubber, and glass and sending it to recycling for manufacture of other products.

Good habits in Solid Waste Management:

5. To encourage the citizens to participate in waste management
