The Indus Valley civilization is also known as the matured Harappan Civilization. The people of this civilization were matured and clever in mathematics. Maths played a great role in the town planning which can be understood from the following points:
1. The streets were accurately laid out and they were accurately oriented along the cardinal directions.
2. The main streets of Indus valley ran from north to south and east to west intersecting each other at right angles.
3. The streets were broad varying from 9 feet to 34 feet. They ran straight to a mile.
4. The streets were perfectly made for wheeled traffic.
5. Each lane had a public welt. Street lamps were provided for welfare of public.
