A couple of achievements by MIDC in developing the industrial sector are:
*Construction of more than 200 industrial complexes spanning an area of 5,300 sq km
*Development of specialized industrial parks to cater to various sectors such as IT, leather, chemicals, textiles, gems and jewelry, electronics and food processing
One of the current projects being executed by MIDC for the Government of Maharashtra is the construction of the Pune International Airport. This airport is intended to replace the current Pune Airport and will be constructed on the Pune-Nasik National Highway.
