mucus is a layer present in the inner lining of our stomach
we know that our stomach secretes hcl during digesting process it is strong enough to corrode even a blade so what will happen if it is secreted in our soft layered stomach which has no protection? thatswhy the musus acts as a protective layer for stomach protecting it from the corrosive attack by the hcl acid
