Role of music ,art ,national anthem, bollywood and literature in national integration

India being a diverse country in respect of various cultural elements, these factors play a huge role in national integration and developing a national identity.

Music: Hindustani music and music indigenous to India has been used for this, especially with the spread of southern classical music to the north and music endemic to the northern areas to the south.
Art: Art was often used, especially post independence, to develop a national identity. Calendar art can be observed for this. Even the constant representation of India as a geographical unit and spread of standardized representations to depict Indian culture and their dissemination have helped this. For example, a south indian is now able to identify a north indian clothing as 'Indian'.
National Anthem: With the introduction of national anthem just before the cinema gaining much attention now, this song has homogenised the national feeling of patriotism. By doing so, it is a reminder for each citizen about how they are an Indian and to be proud about the same.
Bollywood: Bollywood acts as a great unifying force. With the spread of Hindi almost throughout India as a whole, everyone enjoys a Bollywood movie and has helped India bond on an emotional level than economic or political.
Literature: Indian literature in English acts as an opportunity for Indians to read stories of Indians from very different parts of the country. As the books a person has access to are heavily controlled, these are made sure to promote national unity.
