1. To constructively criticism the policies, plans, bills and laws which, in accordance with them, are against the common people's welfare.They should highlight the negative points of these.
The opposition should clear out its stand on each and every issue concerned with the people. It helps in smooth working of the Temple of the democracy.
If opposition parties are segregated, then its role of Leader of Opposition or Leader of single largest of opposition part(As presently Congress is) , to prepare a United Opposition Front, to con-solidify the base of issues in Parliament.
2. Leader of opposition has a key role during working of the house.Constitutionally, Its a designation equivalent to Cabinet Minister, sits at extreme nook of the respective house.Moreover, it has a signified role as a member of selection committee for appointment of bureaucrats like Directors of Central Institutions, CIC, CVC etc.
He is also a represents opposition in JPC( Joint Parliament Commission ) and all party meeting.
3. To have a tight view on collection of revenue, implementation of schemes and expenditure of the budget by Govt. and to reveal out flaws in channelization of entire mechanism .
Dissemination of Constructive Criticism of Government Policies and to suggest an alternative routes, are the major key roles of Leader of Opposition.
