Hey there!

----------

The importance of pH in our digestive system :

Our stomach produce hydrochloric acid (HCL) which helps in digestion of food. When we eat spicy food, stomach produces too much of acid which causes 'acidity', i.e, when acidity increases in the stomach, it causes pain, irritation and indigestion.

To correct the disturbed pH range, milk of magnesia is used as a medicine, which is also called antacid as it reduces the effect of acid (or acidity).
