India being a democratic country we have the "right to elect" the representatives of our country and these representatives who are part of a certain political parties have the "sole responsibility" of running their administration / running the government effectively. Also they are considered the watch dogs of the government with an objective of scrutinising the actions of their party and government on the whole.

2. The top party leaders of the political parties select their candidates to contest in the election.
3. Voters vote according to the policies and procedures of the political party. So, the political party must frame policies which enriches the lifestyle of the people.
