Telugu is a South-Central Dravidian language in India's South. It is one of the primary languages of India.
Telugu had been a minor language until Telugu language radio was initiated. On June 16, 1938; the first Telugu radio broadcast was aired by the radio channel Air Chennai, Egmore.
However it faced downfall during change of governments in the Southern region. All India Radio and Radio Ceylon became the only source of Telugu language broadcasting.
Yet, with eventual growth in the broadcasting industry, Telugu language radio broadcast took online radio broadcasting in 2006. It still carries on till date.
