Stem cells, especially embryonic stem cells, are unspecialized cells that can become any type of cells through differentiation. In a 3-7 day-old embryo, the cells inside will become embryonic stem cells, which later differentiate into Ectoderm (Brain, Skin), Mesoderm (Muscle, Blood, Bone), Endoderm (Lung, Gut, Liver), or Germline.
