ROLE OF WATER AND MINERALS IN PLANTS ARE :-

1⃣TRANSPORTATION:Water is suitable transport medium, which causes transporatation of substances in solution from roots upward to the shoot or from leaves to other parts.

2⃣PHOTOSYNTHESIS: Water is used as a raw material in the synthesis of glucose.

3⃣MECHANICAL FUNCTION: Water provides tirgidity, which is necessary for the stiffness of plant tissues.

4⃣TRANSPIRATION: A large quantity of water is passed out as vapour during transpiration.

5⃣MAINTAINING PLANT'S TEMPERATURE: Plants can absorb radiation without any increases in temperature because water has a high specific heat.

6⃣STOMATAL MOVEMENT: Water in guard cells. controls the opening and closing and closing of stomata.

7⃣MINERALS: Act as builidinb blocks for many compounds synthesized by plants.

Answer:

Role of water in transporting minerals from the soil into roots: Plants obtain their minerals from the soil. Water present in the soil will dissolve these minerals into smaller ions and move these ions into roots passively along with the water they absorb.
