By initiating The NREGA (2005) the government if India has guaranteed 100 days of employment to all citizens who are capable and willing to work.

People that have not been provided with jobs have been entitled to unemployment allowances.

This scheme has been launched in 625 districts of India.

It is now called MGNREGA ( Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Gurantee Act)
