Romila says that gold and silver are metal but Aditi says that they are minerals.Who w correct?Can both be correct? Why or why not?

In my opinion... Both are correct!

Gold and silver are metals as they show metallic properties like lustre, etc.

As well as both are minerals because both are extracted from ores. Silver is extracted from Argentite (Ag2S).Gold is extracted from ores like calaverite, sylvanite ,etc.

Note: Gold is also found alone and as an alloy with silver and mercury but found inside the earth. So, it fulfills the criteria for being a mineral !!!
